Full Time Accounts Payable Assistant

Job Description

Location: St Albans

Salary: Competitive

Hours: Full Time

Contribute to the delivery and development of the Group’s business working in partnership with colleagues / stakeholders to provide relevant, timely and accurate transactional processing and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

Be responsible for :
o Processing and matching foreign stock supplier invoices
o Foreign stock supplier statement reconciliations
o Preparing and checking payment runs
o Deputising for Accounting Manager as required
o Support onboarding and ongoing training of Accounts Assistant’s

Be part of a team responsible for
o Processing school vouchers
o Process and reconcile credit card receipts / takings
o Processing and reconciling of school account takings
o Bank receipts processing
o PDQ takings processing
o Credit control

Other
•Carry out any other duties as required by the Head of Finance, Accounting Manager and other key business / group stakeholders

Person Specification
Experience

Minimum of 2 year proven experience at a Transactional Level specifically Accounts Payable including matching of POs to Invoices
Ideally has experience of working in an organization which holds and manages stock
Excellent attention to detail and able to deal with complex reconciliations
Proven ability to work effectively with key stakeholders and in building effective partnerships
Very good communication skills and able to communicate at all levels of the organisation
Displaying positive energy, curiosity and passion for the business
Encourage innovative thinking and be flexible and collaborative in your approach
Has an appetite to take on certain managerial responsibilities

Knowledge
Ability to develop, monitor and improve financial systems, processes and controls and make effective use of IT
Experience of all elements of transactional accounting specifically Accounts Payable
Strong Excel skills and ideally experience with an ERP System
Education and training
Good grades for Maths and English Language
