Main Purpose of Role

  • To assist in ensuring all staff, agency workers and full time employees working in the goods in/out area are trained to a level whereby they can implement any of the department specific duties, including training & development, Heath & Safety and welfare of the team.
  • To assist in logging any stock received in, inform the relevant buyers and allocators in good time, to apply barcodes in a timely and efficiently manner and run GRN completion.
  • To log, manage and investigate any accuracy failures. Implement any spot-checks required to ensure the department is working accurately and within agreed processes.
  • To ensure the timely despatch of retail/school shop replenishment transfers.
  • Communicate with team regarding department targets, objectives and initiatives.
  • The putting away of stock function.
  • Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supports Warehouse Manager in the fulfilment of his, Senior Management and Buyer requests
  • To ensure both goods in and goods out operations run smoothly and efficiently with deadlines met
  • To take responsibility and ownership of the “front end”
  • To make sure goods are steadily flowing through goods in
  • Organises the quick and efficient picks of school shop transfers
  • Responsible for creating transfers for completed embellished products to the correct branch
  • Prioritises plain stock picks ready for embellishment
  • Ensure the warehouse is a safe and clean environment to work in, with a clean as you go policy
  • Motivation and development of staff
  • Prioritises workload.
  • Be responsible for ensuring that the quality of the product and service within the Warehouse is maintained at the highest possible standards for the customer

Knowledge and Skills

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of business best practice as outlined in the ‘Employee Handbook’
  • Thorough knowledge of workplace Health & Safety standards.
