Main purpose of the role

To work with the Marketing Manager in developing the company’s marketing strategy and in delivering the full range of supporting activity. This involves coordinating a wide range of both on and off-line activity working with internal staff in Head Office and Stores, as well as with third party suppliers.

Primary responsibilities:

  1. Website up-keep:
    • Content creation and publishing, including news stories, parent/school notifications, service and delivery information, Team make-up, Ethical Standards and Charity involvement. Ensuring articles are proof-read, typo-free and SEO focused while maintaining company standards and tone of voice.
    • Involvement in the maintenance of the company’s main website - – as well as subsidiary sites:,,,
    • Creation and targeting of website pop-up communications to drive online ordering and appointment take-up.
    • Updating weekly Career Vacancy info on the website, as requested by HR.
    • Producing monthly statistics which compare agreed KPI’s (e.g. Traffic volume, page usage, time on site, pages viewed and Bounce rates etc.)
    • Updating school information pages and creating targeted notifications.
  2. Support and development of e-mail marketing programmes using marketing software:
    • To create and manage lead generation activity targeting potential new schools/trusts, supporting the Business Development Team.
    • To create and manage communication with current online customers/parents. Including In-store Uniform Fitting Appointments, Ordering deadlines, product promotions and survey feedback emails
  3. School liaison. Coordinating the sign-off of requests for school sponsorship inc. Event sponsorship, raffle prizes and gift vouchers. Reporting on the scope and scale of support on an annual basis.
  4. Creating, printing and laminating Store Information signs. Using existing or briefed InDesign templates to produce signage for use in Store windows e.g. Opening times, Services promotion, Product Promotions and Branch Vacancies.
  5. Creating School information leaflets using existing or briefed InDesign templates to promote Appointment Booking, New School Supplier status, Store Re-Location, Seasonal Opening Times, Branch Vacancies.
  6. Conference support. Working with the New Business Development Manager to deliver agreed marketing support activities including Delegate targeted communication (Pre/Post event), Exhibition Stand Design and Maintenance, Roller banner Design and Supply, Prize draw entry slip production.
  7. Work with existing InDesign templates and 3rd Party Designers to create and supply artwork to agreed deadlines for advertising in specialist education publications, as well as seasonal school event programmes (e.g. Summer Fair, Christmas Fair).
  8. Customer database. Maintain customer preferences, such as unsubscribers, email addresses and current schools, to enable GDPR compliant targeting.
  9. Liaise with Head of Retail to develop required window and in-store signage and promotional leaflets.
  10. Liaise with Head of Operations to ensure adequate stock availability of designed store consumables and promotional leaflets are in-stock and available for call-off all year round.
  11. Provide Head of IT/IT Project Manager with data updates to feed the BI Management Information System, in order to produce useful information about customer feedback on Appointments, Customer Service and Website rating.
  12. Brand Artwork. Work with third party designers and printers in the creation and provision of any necessary brand artworks for the production of a range of marketing assets and consumables (e.g. Promotional brochures and School/In-store flyers, Carrier and mail bags and boxes, Garment labels, Product swing tickets, Product inserts, Despatch forms, Office Stationery and freepost labels etc.), as required,
  13. Provide Head of IT/IT Project Manager with data updates to feed the BI Management Information System, in order to produce useful information about customer feedback on Appointments, Customer Service and Website rating.
  14. Customer Survey Creation and Reporting. Maintaining, analysing and regular reporting of existing survey feedback (e.g. General Customer Survey, Appointment Surveys and New School Surveys) to relevant parties, as well as the creation of any newly required surveys.
  15. Social Media. Managing the ‘Stevensons’ and ‘XXV’ social media accounts (Facebook and LinkedIn) and blogs. Creating regular engaging and relevant posts to generate traffic and followers and responding to customer
  16. Identify opportunities to maintain and increase company Trustpilot star rating, Google Search Ranking and Google Business Store profiles.
  17. Collecting and collating usable testimonials from parents and schools for use in future publications and school case studies.
  18. Act as the main point of marketing contact in the absence of the Marketing Manager.
  19. Working with Account managers to organise Boot2Africa donation at selling events
  20. Daily review of [email protected] mailbox and allocation of relevant communication

    Knowledge and Skills

    • Highly organised person, able to multitask and with great time management skills
    • Experience with a wide range of marketing and digital marketing and social media activities
    • A can-do and problem-solving attitude are essential
    • Ability to manage ambiguity and influence decision-making
    • Good communication skills - written and verbal
    • Good IT and computer skills (learning new software is likely to be required)
    • Good attention to detail
    • Basic level Adobe Photoshop
    • Basic Adobe InDesign,
    • MS Office suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Content Management System experience
    • Social Media channel experience (Inc. Facebook and LinkedIn).
    • Understanding of Google Analytics
    • Understanding of the importance of SEO principles
    • Use of Mailchimp or equivalent
    • Use of Survey Monkey or equivalent
